Facebook will reduce the number of posts about politics in the news feed

Social network Facebook is going to reduce the amount of political content appearing in the news feed of users, according to the company's website.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a financial report that people often report that they don't want to see posts about politics in their feed. In this regard, the social network decided to test different approaches for several months in order to better understand the preferences of users.

This week the number of posts on politics will decrease among users in Canada, Brazil and Indonesia, and in the coming weeks - in the United States.

Facebook noted that they will not restrict messages from government agencies, as well as information about the coronavirus, which is published by health authorities.

According to Facebook, in the US, political content accounts for about 6% of all posts that users see in the news feed.
